The Log Lodge
The building is a showcase in amazing hand cut log cabin craftmanship, built in 1929 by William “Bill” Lenz. The striking two-sided fireplace helps create a cozy atmosphere.
It has always been a community hub, serving as dance hall, bar, venue, restaurant, and lounge throughout the years. Locals have fond memories of the building, and when the area flooded and all bridges washed away in 1964, everyone gathered at the Lodge for Christmas. We’ve heard stories of guests driving up every weekend for Portland, as The Lodge was the “hopping place on the mountain”.
The building’s interior atmosphere and ambience is intact, and it’d being carefully restored to look as close to the original as possible.
We are inspired by the multiple Steiner cabins in the area that were built around the same time, as well as the famous Timberline Lodge (Overlook Hotel in The Shining).
